For $129 it should have should include a touch bar. **digression - If Apple's serious about promoting the Touch Bar it should be available for pros using external keyboards on Touch Bar equipped Mac's - end digression** Okay so the keyboard is actually slightly bent, however it doesn't rock or move at all while in use.

When you turn these devices on, they appear as Connected in the Bluetooth section of System Preferences and in the Bluetooth menu in your menu bar. If a device doesn't appear there, make sure it's charged or replace it batteries, and make sure it's been. With forearms flat on the desk my hands fall naturally to the keyboard, no issues there though I will say that I use a folded towel under my wrists that cushion and raise them by perhaps a half an inch. The keystroke is not as nice as the fantastic keyboard on the new MPB but very similar to past apple keyboards I've owned. We'll give it a few hundred hours of use for a final verdict but 'all good' at the moment. Blue tooth pairing was quick and easy and after several days I've not had any issues with losing connectivity.

I already replaced that with a white MX Master. The new trackpad may be worth getting when I have some money to waste. The biggest con for this keyboard is that there is no way to angle it up, so you are typing on essentially a flat surface. Thanks a lot, Tim! Ever hear of ergonomics? The cleaners at my office spilled something on my older keyboard, killing it. I went and bout the new keyboard with the numeric keypad (I'm in finance so I use it all the time.) I was surprised that Apple had managed to make it worse by upgrading it. Fine, whatever. My real problems are ergonomic and functional. This keyboard is noticeably flatter, which I can already feel starting to stress my wrists. And unlike many people I used the extra USB ports (particularly since I have a usb-c only macbook pro.

It links to the computer (running High Sierra) every time. And the battery is rechargeable so no problems there. Just plug it in to a USB port from time to time to charge. The computer shows the keyboard under the Bluetooth pull down menu at upper right on the screen including the charge state of the battery. Very convenient. I had an older Apple wireless keyboard.

I use it often enough that I miss it when I'm working on a laptop, so I was really excited when I saw that Apple had a keyboard with a numeric keypad. I love the way the keyboard feels, I like the click of the keys, and despite what everyone thinks about this being worse for carpal tunnel, that's not what the stand on the back of keyboards is used for, and my wrists are straighter when using this keyboard. For the cons, a few of the letters are rubbing off, and they started rubbing off pretty significantly within 6 months of buying this keyboard.

I bought mine at an Apple Store, it was not bent, it sits perfectly flat on my desktop, no wobbles, and I see no indications that it is going to bend in the middle. I suppose if you are sitting on the couch with this in your lap and have a really heavy keystroke. Yes, it sits quite flat, just as past versions, and there is no provision to tilt it but frankly I find the typing position to be very much to my liking.

Unfortunately, Apple no longer makes a wired keyboard, so I was forced to upgrade to this expensive, wireless model.

The second issue is minor, but significant. If you're like me, you slide the keyboard around to slightly different positions during the day — to take a call, swivel in your seat, etc. The base of this keyboard is very 'sticky', and really doesn't slide.

Those elevated your wrists so your hands could hang in a more natural position. My only complaint is that it might be even better if it was completely flat. The keys are very responsive with less travel than the previous keyboard which is an improvement. If you are wondering if you should buy one, then you should buy one.

Now, I am often a row above where I want to be for several letter before I notice--visually--my mistake. Frankly, I like everything else, but these two design blunders make every outing on this keyboard an adventure in frustration. No, this is not a carpal-tunnel friendly keyboard. If you want that, just buy another keyboard from Best Buy or a gel wrist support. If you want a basic keyboard with MacBook level build quality, this is it. If you like the clean MacBook look, this is for you. If you don't connect the MacBook and keyboard under a microwave or server room, you shouldn't have bluetooth issues. This keyboard doesn't have the butterfly board found on the new MacBooks, which is fine.

The battery life is great, appears to be about 30 days and it quickly recharges in a couple of hours and it can still be used while charging. As far as the key travel, I know it's a personal taste, but I think the key travel of the new Magic Keyboard is superior to the wired extended keyboard I used previously and far superior to the keyboard of the 2017 MacBook Pro.
