There are no private workrooms. Components The BG2 Fixpack is basically five items: core fixes, a game text update, a modder pack, beta core fixes, and several optional but cool fixes. Optional but cool is broken down further into individual components. BG2 Fixpack (Core Fixes) This component includes all fixes deemed to be core by the Fixpack team. While some bugs are clearly bugs, the team also has a review process for 'gray area' bugs to insure that fixes do not contradict developer intent. The result is a 'core fixes' component which aims to address true bugs only and in a manner consistent with BioWare's original goals. When we encounter something we happen to think is a bug (or just strange behavior) but appears to be intentional, we generally fix those as an Optional But Cool component.
It also added a variety of features to the base game: a new dungeon called Watcher's Keep, which can be accessed from both Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal; new features and enhancements, such as high-level class abilities, a higher experience point cap, and the Wild Mage character class; and new items and spells. Throne of Bhaal was well received: it holds a Metacritic score of 88 and a GameRankings score of 88.73, and won the 'PC Role-Playing' award at the 2002 Interactive Achievement Awards. Reviewers generally praised Throne of Bhaal and thought it a spectacular conclusion to the Baldur's Gate saga. Re-releases [ ] Shadows of Amn was re-released, along with its expansion, Throne of Bhaal, as Baldur's Gate II: The Collection in 2003.

I verified (I think) that the permissions on the.lua file and the BGEE folder are the same as for the BGIIEE.lua and folder, which does not re-create the default.lua file on each restart. So writing to this file works properly, but for some reason it's getting recreated on game start up. Does that help any in coming up with a fix or workaround? Thanks for any help y'all can offer! Thanks tbone1, have you (or anyone here!) had any free time to look into this?

I think I'm more confused than ever about why I can't get them to read from the.lua on 10.10.5, especially when BG II EE was working at one point. *sigh* I'm still looking for information on how I can do a clean install on my 10.10.5 system, specifically what files need to be removed so I can ensure a clean install like the one I did on the external drive. Any help with that is appreciated.

Resting heals the characters in the party and refreshes those who are fatigued; also, resting allows a character to memorize spells. The game contains over 300 spells available for memorization. With the exception of sorcerers, magic-users must memorize spells before they can be cast. Spell-casting takes time and may be disrupted by attacks or other spells. The player can access sub-screens through the interface: area and world maps; the journal, which tracks important information, such as quests and the game's plot; the inventory page, which is used to manage and equip items; the record screen, which is used to view information about, as well as level up, characters in the party; the mage book and priest scroll screens, where spells can be inspected and memorized; and the options screen, where settings may be altered, saved-games loaded, or the game saved or quit.

Then I removed every file and folder with the name 'beamdog' or 'baldur' that I could find, including the com.beamdog files. I emptied the Trash and rebooted the machine just to be sure, then reinstalled both BG EE and BG II EE from the original downloads. Yet after all this the game continues to create a new, virgin Baldur.lua each time I start up the game, as if it doesn't even know the.lua is there, and instead launches with whatever the default settings are. I can go into the game and change the preferences, and those preferences are accurately written to the Baldur.lua. But when I restart the game, those preferences are promptly ignored, ad infinitum. I've actually made the problem worse, for now BG II EE is doing the same thing, whereas prior to my reinstalling everything, that game was saving Options and reading them back in just fine.
The second option will install ' GTU Classic' (from Baldurdash, by Kevin Dorner), an in-depth dialogue revision, parts of which may be considered arbitrary by purists. Super Happy Fun Lucky Modder Pack This component has been discontinued due to lack of interest. BETA Core Fixes Though the Fixpack has long since left beta, new fixes still need to be added. This component includes fixes intended for the Core Fixes component and tested in a limited fashion, but have not yet been tested 'in the wild' or with other mods. As such, this component is considered to be of a BETA status. As fixes in this component get tested and validated in the wild, they will move into the Core Fixes.
