Oh and a Full Model Name & Number for the Toshiba would also help as I do not work for or with Toshiba and a quick search on Toshiba's Web Site failed to revel any product with the Q25-AV513 Designation. If you cloned the Primary Drive to the System with 1 Drive in it this would produce a system with 2 Separate Drives not any form of RAID Array.

It seems that it does not recognize my hard drives. When i need to choose the partition to install on, the list is empty and it needs a driver to recognize the RAID controller i think. The problem is that i didn't found anything on Toshiba's site. I updated the BIOS but no results. I installed the Rob package and in Program FIles in the Intel storage manager i copied the 'drivers64' folder on my usb memory.

This means that you should back up your hard drives so you don't loose all your files. Otherwise, you will receive a message saying that the Setup did not find any hard disk drives. On my case, changing it to RAID did not resolve the 'Setup did not find any hard disk drives' problem. Therefore, I do not recommend doing it.

If a diskette drive is not available, then Windows 2000 or Windows XP may be installed (on Toshiba notebooks with a Serial ATA hard disk drive contoller) only from the Recovery CD or DVD that's packaged with the computer. If Windows Setup stops as indicated in the screen shot above, it will be necessary to restart it, as described below.

Backup plans are messy. Deciding what to store where is messy. Replacing a failed external drive is messy. Restoring from a backup is messy. Migrating to a new Mac is messy. The above perfectly describes me, at least the semi-recent me: I’ve got about 5TB of data, and until recently, I had a total of one internal and three external drives to store it all.

Hey mate, I’m wondering about your problem because I have Qosmio F50 too and yesterday I installed Windows 7 too. During the setup process I loaded the SATA driver from my USB stick.
I didn't go further because the next step was format. I just tried to see if it works. I tried your method. It is the same driver i tried.

However, because I wanted both speed and protection, I decided to create a, i.e. One that uses a combination of the standard levels. I chose to use RAID 1+0 or just RAID 10. RAID 10 requires four drives, with each pair of drives first being mirrored (RAID 1), then striped (RAID 0). (Note that to a given RAID level (nested or not), the hardware you’re using must support it.) This image may help you understand the setupor it may make your head spin.

Issue Windows 2000 or Windows XP Setup may not be able to complete the installation of Windows, because it does not detect the computer's Serial ATA disk drive controller. Windows Setup may report this information in a message similar to this one: This problem may be caused by the absence of a required driver for the Serial ATA disk drive. Microsoft Windows does not -- as of October 2005 -- have built-in support for Serial ATA (SATA) controllers and hard disk drives. This includes Windows XP (with or without SP1 or SP2) and Windows 2000. To install Windows on a Toshiba computer with a Serial ATA drive, it's necessary to install the Toshiba RAID driver / Serial ATA driver during the Windows Setup installation process. Other hard disk drive interfaces that typically require additional drivers from the Host Bus Adapter manufacturer include FC-AL (Fibre Channel-Arbitrated Loop) and SCSI.

That’s why you have, right? But just having a backup doesn’t solve all the problems: If a drive dies, the process of replacing it and restoring from the backup can be time consuming. If you use your Mac for your livelihood, this downtime can be expensive.

I was unable to find a toshiba site that offered support, so I dont have any other specs than what I got from here: If this is your model, than you do have a SATA controller, which would mean you would need a SATA driver using the F6 install method. Again, I am not sure if I have the right model so I leave it at that now. If you have a web site that offers support for your laptop, please post that too. I downloaded your computers manual and read some relevant sections. It mentions how to install XP to RAID-1 and RAID-0 configurations.
